General Debridement
General Debridement is the gross removal of plaque and calculus that interfere with the
ability of the dentist to perform a comprehensive oral evaluation. Often time, when a
patient have not been to a dentist for a long time, and suffers from severe gingivitis or
moderate to advance periodontitis, there is a lot of inflammation and gross tartar build
up. A general debridement is necessary prior to the dentist can perform a thorough and
proper dental examination. This procedure does not preclude the need for additional
dental cleaning.
